Fitness and Nutrition Coach

Jim O’Brien is an ACE certified personal and group fitness trainer that has always been passionate about exercise and people. Growing up Jim played in many highly competitive sport leagues teaching him the value of working hard both on his own and with others.  Excelling in sports he began to take on leadership roles on his teams, helping to motivate those around him to do better and work towards goals. 


After college Jim took up a career in the financial industry, working in client services.  The combination of his background in sports and experience in client services helped mold him onto the trainer that he is today.  A true professional that not only understands the needs of the body to move and challenge itself, but also all the challenges that come to his clients in today’s working world. 


Jim's own prior struggles with weight gain have allowed him to better understand his client's potential obstacles and help them learn ways to overcome them to achieve and maintain their desired body. Specializing in strength training and weight loss, Jim motivates his clients to begin to love the process of a healthier life.


With thousands of hours of training experience Jim has worked with all types of people, from individuals brand new to exercise to athletes looking to boost performance, from high level executives pressed for time to retirees looking to keep active and healthy.  Jim also excels in group training settings. He was one of first trainers to work for Orangetheory Fitness in the northeast. Helping hundreds of people lose weight and get strong.


Jim enjoys keeping active.  He loves spending time outdoors in nature as well as challenging himself with weekend races through cities.  He competes in everything from 5k obstacle course races to half marathons.  A Boston native, he can be spotted out on the town on the weekends having fun in new and exciting ways.  He brings the same excitement and vigor of his personal life into all of his personal and group training sessions.
