Sober-tober, Dry January, Sober curious

Whichever name you want to give it, cutting down or cutting out alcohol is seriously on-trend. We're finding out more about what, exactly, alcohol does to our body and why the polyphenols and antioxidants that might be in our wine may not out-weigh the side effects of a daily or even weekly cocktail habit.

If you choose to drink alcohol at all and have thought about going a little lighter on the booze after the summer or the holiday season, you're not alone. The idea of a sober-tober or dry January has become increasingly popular: eliminate alcohol altogether to start the next season off with more focus, better sleep and in an overall healthier way.

I'll allow you to look up the side effects of regular alcohol intake and just say that reducing your regular drinks could help you sleep better, be more clear and alert overall, could reduce cholesterol, liver fat, glucose and aid in weight loss.

Sounds pretty good, huh? Lucky for us, non-alcholic beverages are having a moment and there are lots of options out there that make you feel like you're having a cocktail. Some even contain adaptogenic herbs that may have all kinds of benefits.

So, if you're sober-curious or looking to reduce your intake, we thought we'd share some of our favorite lower alcohol and non-alcoholic options just in case. And if you find good a non-alcoholic tequila-pass it along, we're in!
